Overview
This project was completed as part of a Design Interactive cohort, where I collaborated with a team of eight designers to redesign key pages for Wisconsin Conservation Voices. Our goal was to strengthen the visibility and accessibility of the Wisconsin Native Vote program and improve how users engage with essential voting information.
Through research, prototyping, and usability testing, we developed solutions that better supported Native audiences in quickly finding information, understanding the program, and engaging with its resources.
Understanding the current experience
We evaluated the site structure and analyzed Squarespace click data to identify where users struggled to find information and take action.
01 Important information was difficult to find
02 Unclear navigation
03 Low clicks for Call to Action items
Key findings
Defining our goals
Strengthen calls to action to encourage user engagement
Make voting information easier to find, understand, and navigate
Highlight key statistics to clearly communicate impact
Use color and visual hierarchy to guide attention and support usability
Design Phase
Low-fidelity wireframes
Created low-fidelity wireframes to restructure the page layout, prioritize key actions, and improve information hierarchy.
Iterations
High-fidelity prototype
To evaluate the effectiveness of the redesign, we conducted A/B testing comparing the current Wisconsin Conservation Voices website with our prototype.
Participants were randomly assigned to navigate either the existing site or the new prototype while completing tasks such as locating voting information and identifying ways to take action.
